Google Maps Street View

If you haven’t heard of Google Maps and their new street view ability, you’re in for a treat. While the option has been available for several years now, it hasn’t been widely advertised. Basically, street view is almost like the “Holo-deck” that you may have seen on episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. All you do is go to Google Maps and click on the little yellow man icon. Drag him to your destination and suddenly, you have a 360 degree image of it! You can see houses, businesses, and more. It’s just like you were standing in the street looking around. This is great if you’re going to be moving and want to check out potential new neighborhoods or if you want to get an idea of where you’re driving to. It’s a fun tool to play around with, too, and, of course, you must check out your own house.
