Computer to Compete on Jeopardy

We’ve seen a computer take on the highest ranked chess players in the world. Now engineers at IBM are ready to pit their computer against players on the trivia show Jeopardy! IBM is preparing their computer to handle all the interesting categories the quiz show features, which include things like puns, word relationships, and analogies. Contestants must answer in the form of a question to gain money, something the computer will also have to do. It will not, IBM says, have access to the internet, but they will feed the computer a number of texts and other information so that it will be on par with contestants who study and train for their appearances on the show.
